Have questions on how to clean your garbage disposal? Or maybe you need a new disposal? Let us help you!
What you'll need:
- Kitchen sponge with an abrasive side
- Dish soap
- 1/2 cup baking soda (optional)
- 1/2 to 1 cup vinegar (optional)
- Citrus peels (optional)
- Bleach (optional)
- Gloves
- Sink Stopper
Instructions:
- Clean the Baffle and Grinding Chamber
- Use dish soap on the abrasive side of a sponge and scrub thoroughly to get all the folds and creases
- Pour 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup vinegar down the drain. Cover the drain because the mixture will fizz up quickly!
- Rinse
-
- Wait a few minutes and then flush the garbage disposal with a hot water rinse.
- Deodorize
-
- If your garbage disposal is smelling extra smelly, use equal parts bleach and warm water to pour down the drain (don't use more than 1/3 cup of bleach)
- You can also pour citrus peels down the garbage disposal! The peels help clean away all the slimy "gunk" still in the disposal.
